This one was a page turner!! While paranormal is not my normal "go to" genre, I stumbled across Dystopia and was totally intrigued by the cover. After reading the first two chapters of the book, I was hooked. The author sets a pace with this story that keeps you turning the pages. I don't recommend reading it on your lunch break because you will only be frustrated when you have to put it down and go back to work. ( I made the mistake of doing this) The characters in the book are all unique in their own way and bring out a range of emotions within you. Don't read it in the dark either if the thought of ghosts sends a cool shiver up your spine. There is a hint of romance throughout the book that does not dominate the story but I will leave that for you to explore on your own ;)I loved most watching the heroine battle her own demons throughout the book while growing at the same time. When the odds seem stacked against her, and trust me …she finds herself in some crazy situations…Sasha pulls herself together and battles through it all. I love the banter back and forth between the three main characters. (Sasha, Aaron & Zara) When I wasn't afraid to read the next paragraph…I was laughing at something silly Aaron said or did. Zara is the total opposite of Sasha, fiercely independent and sure of herself. I love her quick wit and snarky comments. The three of them together are pure entertainment.
I am excited to know that there is a second novel in this series although for those of you like myself who HATE cliff hangers…This book ends very appropriately and leaves you looking forward to continuing the journey with these characters in the next book. Chapter One of Hysteria was included and I have a feeling its going to be even better than the first novel. Can't wait to get my hands on it !

This was a very refreshing young adult novel. I haven’t read a lot of young adult books that I’ve liked recently but this one is a winner!
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this story. I thought Sasha was a great character. She is only sixteen years old so she has her teenage tendencies but throughout the story she matures quickly. There are lots of changes that happened in her life and she slowly defined herself and this was so rejuvenating. I was pleased to see that she gained confidence, support, courage, family and friends in her adventure of self-discovery. She was realistic for a sixteen-year-old girl, which I greatly appreciated while reading.
The other characters were great friends to Sasha. Aaron was comical throughout the story and Zara was the very smart, no nonsense quick witted girl. They both provided great support to Sasha and really brought out her true self. I enjoyed all the characters, the villains were interesting and they had a different, intriguing agenda. One of very few books where I liked ALL the characters,
The story itself was a thrilling adventure! There are lots of events that occur that urged me to read on. I read this book in one day, that’s how much I was pulled into the story. There weren’t any dull moments or slow parts. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to read a young adult paranormal thriller.
The writing was well done. Mr. Ergo has great fluidity to his story telling, this was a big reason of how I was able to read this book in one day. The entire story flowed well from the beginning to the end, which I was really impressed with. The only reason I didn’t give this story five stars is because I thought some parts of the story needed more detail. Overall, this was a wonderful read and I will be reading the second story soon ☺
Fascinating plot, great storyline and interesting resolution. Well worth spending your spare time enjoying a really good read. I also like that the author used good grammar and accurate spelling, cos I'm particular about grammar, spelling and punctuation, and all writers should be, but not all are. This one is, and I quite appreciate that extra care (along with the creativity, of course!). Looking forward to the sequels!!
